Security cabins and guard cabins built at our own unit at Mumbra, Thane — from a single-guard post at a society gate to a larger gatehouse with a counter, toilet and storage. Insulated, wired, finished and delivered standing on your base, ready to use. Supplied across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune and all over India.
What a security cabin actually has to do
A guard cabin is a small building with a hard job. Somebody sits in it for a twelve-hour shift, in May heat and in August rain, and has to be able to see the gate without leaning out. Most of the complaints we hear about guard cabins are not about the structure at all — they are about the window being in the wrong place, no cross ventilation, or a counter at the wrong height for a visitor register. Those are decided before fabrication, not after, which is why it is worth spending five minutes on the layout before you order.
Three things settle most of it. First, which way the guard faces: the main viewing window should look straight down the approach, not at the wall of the compound. Second, cross ventilation: a window on one wall and a louvre or a second opening on the opposite wall makes the difference between a cabin a guard wants to sit in and one he stands outside of. Third, the counter: if the guard handles a register, deliveries or passes, a counter at about waist height on the window side saves him standing up all day.
Common security cabin sizes
These are the sizes most often asked for. If none of them fits your gate, send us your drawing and we will build to it — a large share of our work is custom sizes made for a specific site plan.
| Size | Commonly used as | Comfortable for |
|---|---|---|
| 4 ft x 4 ft | Single guard post, society or building gate | 1 guard, standing or on a stool |
| 5 ft x 5 ft | Guard post with chair, register table and fan | 1 guard, seated |
| 6 ft x 4 ft | Gate cabin with counter for visitor register and intercom | 1 to 2 guards at shift change |
| 8 ft x 6 ft | Gatehouse with cupboard, CCTV monitor or boom barrier panel | 2 guards |
| 10 ft x 10 ft | Security cabin, guard post or small site office | 1 to 2 people |
| Built to your drawing | Gatehouse with attached toilet, frisking bay, two-room post | As per layout |
What is included as standard
- Steel base frame and structure, so the cabin can be lifted and shifted as one piece
- Insulated wall and roof panels — this is what keeps the cabin usable in summer, not the fan
- Sloped, sealed roof so monsoon water runs off instead of standing
- Main viewing window with grill, plus a second opening for cross ventilation
- Door with lock, finished flooring, and painting in your colour
- Wiring with light point, fan point and switch socket, ready to connect to your supply
Options worth asking for
A counter or writing shelf on the window side. A sliding window instead of a hinged one where the cabin sits close to the road. Extra electrical points for CCTV, intercom, a boom barrier panel or a small air conditioner — tell us the load and we wire for it rather than leaving you to extend a board later. A small attached toilet, where the guard has no other facility nearby; see our portable toilet cabins if you would rather keep that as a separate unit. Reflective signage or your society or company name on the front panel.
Getting it onto the gate
The cabin is the easy part. What holds up a delivery is the last few hundred metres: the lane width, overhead cables on the approach, the window in which a hydra is allowed to stand on a public road, and society or MIDC gate timing. A small guard cabin usually needs no more than a level plinth or a plain PCC pad, which you can get ready while the cabin is being built. Tell us the approach when you order and we will plan the vehicle and the lift to match, so the cabin is not standing on a truck waiting for permission.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size security cabin do I need for a society gate?
For one guard on duty with a register, a fan and a light, a 4 ft x 4 ft or 5 ft x 5 ft cabin is enough. If two guards sit together on a shift change, or you want a small table for a visitor register and an intercom, go to 6 ft x 4 ft. For a gate where the guard also handles deliveries and keeps a cupboard, 8 ft x 6 ft is more comfortable.
Can a security cabin be shifted later?
Yes. That is the whole point of a portable cabin. It is built on a steel base frame and lifted as one piece, so it can be moved to another gate or another site with a hydra or a crane. Nothing is cast into the ground.
Do you provide the electrical fittings inside?
Yes. A standard security cabin is supplied wired with a light point, a fan point and switch socket, ready for you to connect to your supply. Tell us if you need extra points for an intercom, CCTV monitor, boom barrier panel or a small AC, and we build the wiring for that load.
Is the cabin suitable for Mumbai monsoon and coastal humidity?
The cabins we build are insulated and the roof is sloped and sealed so water runs off rather than standing. Our factory is at Mumbra, Thane, so every cabin we make is built for exactly this climate. On a sea-facing site, surface rusting appears on hardware over time — that is the location, not the cabin — so we fit better-grade hardware and tell you honestly what to expect.
Can you build a security cabin to our own drawing?
Yes, and a large share of our work is exactly that. Send the drawing with the opening sizes and the counter height marked and we build to it. If you do not have a drawing, tell us the footprint and how the guard will use it, and we will suggest a layout.
How soon can it be delivered?
A security cabin in a common size is usually ready in a few days because the panels and frame are standard for us. A cabin built to your drawing takes longer, because of panel fabrication, wiring and painting. We confirm a date in writing before taking the order.
